Contact Our Staff

We work closely with referring veterinarians to provide good continuity of care. If needed, and with your referring veterinarian, our friendly staff can assist you in arranging an appointment with a Veterinary Specialist in the following fields; Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic Surgery, Radiology (Medical Diagnostic Imaging) and Soft Tissue Surgery.

Your daytime veterinarian is also a very important member of our team. Upon discharge a copy of your pet’s medical record will be forwarded to your general practitioner.

Patients are usually seen on a first-come,first-served basis, unless a patient with a life-threatening problem arrives or is present. Our staff will assess the condition of your pet, sometimes interrupting an examination already in progress. If your pet has a life threatening problem, he or she will be attended to without delay.

Hospitalized pets must be picked up before 8am, Monday through Friday. You will receive discharge instructions for your pets and medical records will be faxed to your regular veterinarian. Pets requiring further treatment or continued observation must be transferred back to your regular veterinarian.

Our Clients Say it Best…

I have had to visit this ER vet 4 times in the last couple of years with my cats. Twice was for a cat with urinary issues and twice were for another cat which was attacked and wounded. Each visit I was dealt with speedily and was very happy with the prices. I have had some horrible ER vets when I lived in LA and I could never leave for less than $1k. This place is not like that. Their prices were not any higher than if I had been able to go to my regular vet (which I would have if these situations did not come up in the middle of the night or on a weekend). The staff was very caring and considerate and they contacted my regular vet with all the records so that my vet was up to speed on what happened within 24 hours.

Google Reviewer (From Google +)
The level of personal care and customer service I have received in every dealing with Animal ER of San Diego has been stellar. I highly recommend them to anyone needing emergency veterinary care for their pets.

Friendly, clean and reasonable price. My dog had gas in his colon and stared crying around 2 am. It was not getting better so we took him in. Nurse was so nice and doctor handled my stressed out dog paitiently. The best part was the bill... X-ray, medicin with anastatia(for 180lbs mastiff) for only 350. They told me that we need to watch what he eats and feed him blunt food (chicken, rice and water) for 3days. It was a big releaf to be able to see a doctor at 3am... I can recommend this ER to anyone.
